Carbon Reduction Plan

Published 11 August 2026 · prepared in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the associated technical standard

Supplier name: Planned Limited (registered as PLANNED LTD, company number 08881845)
Publication date: 11 August 2026

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Planned Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035, fifteen years ahead of the 2050 date required by PPN 06/21. We are a single person professional services consultancy with no vehicles, no premises other than a home office, no manufacturing and no physical product. Our emissions are correspondingly small, and we would rather commit to eliminating them early than claim credit for a distant target.

Baseline emissions footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases emitted before any strategic action to reduce them was introduced. They are the reference point against which reduction is measured.

Baseline year: 1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026. This is the first year for which Planned Limited has measured its emissions, so the baseline year and the current reporting year are the same. Future plans will report against this baseline.

EmissionsTotal (tCO2e)
Scope 10
Scope 20.39
Scope 3 (included sources)0.05
Total emissions0.44

Scope 1. Nil. Planned Limited owns no vehicles, operates no combustion plant and holds no premises with a fuel supply under its control.

Scope 2. 0.39 tCO2e, being purchased electricity for the home office from which the business is operated, comprising the business apportioned share of the domestic supply. Reported on a location basis using the 2026 UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factor for grid electricity.

Scope 3. 0.05 tCO2e, covering the categories required by the technical standard. Category 4, upstream transportation and distribution, is nil, as no goods are transported to or from the business. Category 5, waste generated in operations, is negligible, being domestic scale office waste segregated for recycling. Category 6, business travel, is undertaken by battery electric vehicle charged at the reporting premises, so the associated energy is already captured within the electricity reported under Scope 2; no air travel was undertaken in the baseline year. Category 7, employee commuting, is nil, as the sole worker is home based. Category 9, downstream transportation and distribution, is nil. The reported Scope 3 figure comprises transmission and distribution losses associated with purchased electricity together with a provision for operational waste.

Methodology. Emissions were calculated using the UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting, 2026 edition, published by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Electricity consumption for the baseline year has been derived from metered expenditure and the applicable unit rate, and the business apportionment reflects the proportion of the property and the supply used for business purposes. Where a source is described as negligible, it has been assessed as immaterial to the total rather than omitted without consideration.

Current emissions reporting

Reporting year: 1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026. As the first year of reporting, current emissions are identical to the baseline set out above: total 0.44 tCO2e, comprising Scope 1 nil, Scope 2 0.39 tCO2e and Scope 3 0.05 tCO2e.

Emissions reduction targets

Planned Limited projects that carbon emissions will reduce from 0.44 tCO2e in the baseline year to 0.20 tCO2e by 2030, a reduction of approximately 55 per cent, and to net zero by 2035. Progress against these targets will be reported in the annual update to this plan.

Carbon reduction projects

Completed or in place. The business operates on a remote first basis, with client work delivered and reviewed digitally wherever the task allows, which removes the great majority of journeys that a consultancy of this kind would otherwise make. Where travel to site is required, and site verification of reported progress is a core part of what we do, it is undertaken by battery electric vehicle rather than by a combustion engine vehicle. There are no printed deliverables; reports, programmes and reviews are issued electronically. IT equipment is retained and maintained to the end of its useful life rather than replaced on a fixed cycle.

Planned. In the coming reporting year we will move the electricity supply serving the business to a certified renewable tariff, which addresses the largest single component of the footprint. We will improve the energy efficiency of the home office through lighting and heating controls and improved insulation of the working space. We will continue to prioritise rail over road and over air for any travel not suited to the electric vehicle. We will ask our principal software and hosting suppliers for their own emissions and net zero positions at renewal, so that the upstream picture becomes visible rather than assumed. And we will move to metered rather than derived electricity data at the next annual update, so that reported figures rest on measurement.

Declaration and sign off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard, and use the appropriate UK Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors, being the sole director of Planned Limited, on 11 August 2026.
