AI now drafts construction programmes. Tools generate schedules, propose logic and optimise durations in minutes. What AI cannot do is carry professional liability, know your site, or stand behind the programme when a client, a contract or a tribunal tests it. That accountability still sits with a qualified human.
AI Schedule Assurance is an independent, human review of an AI-generated or AI-assisted schedule: whether it holds together, whether it meets the client's specification, and whether it will survive scrutiny before you submit it.
Why an AI-built schedule still needs a human check
AI is good at producing something that looks right. It is less reliable at producing something that is buildable. It can invent parallel work that cannot physically happen, mishandle hard constraints and calendars, and miss the site access, sequencing and contractual requirements that decide whether a programme is accepted. It does not know your project, and it does not know what it does not know.
The liability has not moved. Professional indemnity cover and contractual responsibility rest on the person who signs the programme, not on the tool that drafted it. An AI-assisted schedule submitted unchecked is a signed document that nobody actually reviewed.
What the assurance covers
- A full DCMA 14-point assessment plus logic, float and critical-path integrity, focused on the failures AI output typically hides.
- Whether the programme meets the client's or main contractor's specification: NEC4 clause 31 requirements, activity coding, calendars and reporting.
- Whether the sequence is genuinely buildable given site access, working areas, safety and resource constraints.
- A written record of the human review, so you can show the AI output was tested and corrected rather than accepted on trust.
Independent, by design
We plan, we do not sell you the AI tool, and we hold no reseller interest in any platform. Our only concern is whether the programme is true and whether it will be accepted, which is exactly what the party checking your schedule is asking.
Where AI fits in
This is not an argument against AI. We use AI inside our own delivery to work faster. The point is that speed from AI is only a saving if someone competent still checks the output against the contract and the site. Assurance is the human step that makes the automation safe to rely on.
